Why maintain security systems

It is true that companies make huge budgets to have security equipment installed in their facilities every financial year but will not spend a penny on the necessary maintenance.

This is achieved by arranging maintenance contracts whereby the contractor assumes responsibility and accountability of the system. Weekly or monthly visits are arranged to provide preventive maintenance to the security systems at minimal quarterly costs. It is also a responsibility of the contractor to make replacements in record time as stipulated in the contract.

It is absurd that many companies only review their systems when a critical incidence has occurred and since no maintenance was done, the incident was never captured. At the end, the company management recommends buying a new system.
